about drugs, drinking, etc.

Invite your
School District, Superintendent, PTO, Lady's Club, Church Group to host a Dangers of the Choking Game Presentation.
WRITE
TO YOUR LAWMAKERS
Requesting that they call the CDC and request to be briefed on our issue. Regulations prohibit the CDC from inititating
this request, we must help them help us! This briefing will most likely take place between a staff member of the political office
and a researcher at the CDC, such as Dr. Gilchrist.
Objectives you may chose to include in your correspondence:
- Congress should support the CDC
and Department of Health and Human Services in a process of requesting an ICD subcode change by the World Health Organization to include
choking game as a cause of death.

Congress should support the expansion of the YRBS (Youth Risk Behavior Survey) to be the vehicle for gathering data on student attitudes and behavior regarding the choking game. Congress should also work to make the YRBS more affordable for states.

Congress should support the DASH model of health education developed by the CDC to be an integral part of the reauthorization of ESEA.
When you're writing, remember to tell your story — explain how this issue has effected you personally. You speak for hundreds
of other voters who didn't take the time to write, so choose your words carefully - remember 'you catch more flies with honey than
vinegar'.
WEAR YOUR AWARENESS
Participate in our 'Wear Your Awareness' campaign; wear a Tee shirt or Hoodie,
an Awareness Bracelet, grab a Tote bag and a Bumper Sticker! The power of exposure is amazing. Wear it often and
especially at large functions and without fail people will approach you and ask 'what is the choking game?'.
